- "Little brother, little brother. What am I gonna do with you? Kicked out of school, locked up for some kiddie gangster shit, and now you're lost in some Miami hell-hole."
- ―Johnny Gainesville
Jonathan "Johnny" Gainsville (spelled "Gainesville" in the three-dimensional (3D) version of the game and Urban Crime) is the main protagonist of Gangstar: Miami Vindication.
Johnny is a young man in his 20s-30s looking for his younger brother, Joey Gainesville, who has gone missing. Johnny heard that he may be in Miami, thus he goes there. Johnny starts to work with many allies and other gangsters like Roscoe and Betty and eventually manages to rescue Joey, who later revealed to have been kidnapped by an ally of a Hispanic mob boss named Victor Vega. Johnny gets Roscoe arrested since he was assisted the mastermind of the kidnapping, kills Vega, and brings Vince Jones, the mastermind of the chaos, to a ship where the latter is to be executed. In the 3D version, Johnny's former boss Clive Klick turns out to be responsible for the chaos, and is executed after a long chase both on the ground and on water.
Personality[]
He is more "gentlemanly" than the previous protagonists, and only kills people when they antagonize him.
