The Läufer is a car that appears in Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Gangstar: Miami Vindication and Gangstar Rio: City of Saints. It is produced by the invented German make Schnellzahn (which means fast tooth in English).
The Läufer is a rear-engined sports car found in Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Gangstar: Miami Vindication and Gangstar Rio: City of Saints. In the first rendition, it appears in some way to resemble a Lambourghini Countach and Lambourghini Diablo, and it is the fastest car in the game. The Läufer in Gangstar: Miami Vindication takes its design from various Porsche designs, but is centred on the 911. It is one of the fastest cars in game. In Gangstar Rio: City of Saints, it resembles a Porsche Carrera GT. It is the second fastest car in the game. You can find it in the area with the repeatable mission Drug Deal.
It comes in both cabriolet and hardtop form, but both are identical in peformance. The car's handing is, like the other two sports cars in the game, unrealistic, given its design and arrangement. Spawns commonly around seaside and city areas.
- The car's appearance is drastically altered between all the games it was featured in without any explanation, and is as such unique.
- The Läufer's successor in Gangstar Vegas seems to be the Störer.
- "Läufer" means "runner" in German, which refers to the car's speed
